One of the most popular genres today in music among teens and the like is the new Hip-hop stuff. You know what I'm talking about - the big black guys with 30lb chains around their necks, basketball jersey, sideways hat, colt in mouth, etc...
They see themselves as pimps, players, and popular people.

The only true thing unfortunately is that they are popular. And I don't know why. Hip-hop these days is mostly mixed with rap. Rap can be good if done right and mixed with rock. Examples: Chronic Future, Beastie Boys (their old stuff), Linkin Park.

BUT let's look at why Hip hop blows chunks of meaty goodness, I mean, badness. Most of the stuff is based on being a gangster, being a pimp, blah blah blah blah...
The music itself...is performed by a hired group which is mainly composed of a few things. Here's the 6 step recipe for hip hop:
STEP 1: Get lots of bass. It doesn't matter how you get it. Get as much as you can and cram it into 5 minutes of ear-thumping action.
STEP 2: Add a cheesy drum riff and mix it in with the bass until your ears are completely numb.
STEP 3: Find a dirty bum off of the streets, make him jibber jabber about his boring life, or the life he wants to jibber jabber about.
STEP 4: Add in some even cheesier tambourines or triangles...have them play once every 10 seconds or so, just to make sure the music is always annoying.
STEP 5: Give yourself a title. Find a random word and letter out of the dictionary and compose them with a dash. Examples: C-Squash, R-Toilet, Q-Molestation...
STEP 6: Get some dumb-ass record company to sign you and your music and have it play on Much Music and MTV 5 billion times until people get sick of it. Then make a new single, smoke some weed, and repeat.
